Topic: “Content availability in Information-Centric Networking”

Information-Centric Networking (ICN) has attracted wide attention as new network architecture efficiently delivering content. In ICN, content availability is lost if original is disconnected at network failures. Content availability in ICN can be recovered by promoting copies cached at routers to originals. However, in the existing caching policy, it is difficult to cache content at a spatially-dispersed location with low control load.

SDC (spatially dispersed caching) is a proposed mechanism of autonomous caching policy storing content at a spatially-dispersed location in ICN. Content deployment uses hash value of content name. Controlling copy count is based on content popularity. This approach would be suitable in this environment.
